WAC

We ensure every minute of work is accounted for, empowering hourly-paid workers to break free from disorganisation and feel good about money. With years of experience working in hospitality, our Founder and CEO, Georgina Fairhall, encountered the same problem in every job - she wasn't getting paid correctly. Hours would frequently be missed, breaks wouldn’t happen, and she was routinely expected to work beyond her finish time to 'support' the team. Rather than complaining, George decided to become part of the solution by founding her startup, WAC. Fairhall launched WAC in 2020, one week before a national lockdown, after stepping away from a potential law career to champion low-paid workers. In April 2024 she introduced the business' first revenue stream achieving an ARR of just under £100k within 3 months with ambitions of turning over £18m in year three, boosting the tech sector, recruitment, and economy in the North. George has repeatedly been advised to move her business from Leeds to London, however has worked hard to raise £1m angel investment as a non-technical and sole female founder - making her the highest-risk investment. Despite on-going challenges, George's resistance has secured funding and propelled WAC to a revenue-generating scale-up, and she hasn't looked back.
