U-CyTech Biosciences

U-CyTech biosciences is a biotech company founded in 1999 in cooperation with Utrecht University and is located in Utrecht, The Netherlands (Europe). This business with an open-door policy and many loyal customers is engaged in fundamental and applied research in the field of cytokine biology. We are specialized in ELISA and both the T and B cell ELISPOT assays which are designed for the ex vivo detection of individual protein secreting cells. In addition, we develop ‘in house’ a wide range of highly specific monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies directed to a wide range of proteins forming the basis of our highly sensitive assays (ELISA, ELISPOT, FluoroSpot). We offer laboratory contract services in assay development to our customer's individual needs.

Growth Trajectory

U-CyTech can grow by expanding its distributor network, increasing bulk sales, and further developing FluoroSpot technology for broader applications and multiplexing capabilities. They also have opportunities in customized assay development to meet specific research needs, particularly in emerging therapies like immune checkpoint inhibitors and cell therapies, as well as offering services for custom assay development or sample analysis.

Technical Challenges

Ensuring product quality and consistency in immunoassay kits.
Compliance with privacy laws and regulations related to data collection and third-party data sharing.
Maintaining the website's accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of information.
Detection of autoreactive T and B cell responses at low frequencies.
Developing assays for emerging therapies and infectious diseases.
