The Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly (STMA) is thrilled to announce the successful raising of 50,000 in funding—a milestone that highlights the Assembly’s commitment to advancing regional development and public service excellence. Established originally as Sekondi Town Council in 1903 and evolving through various administrative forms to its current status as the Metropolitan Assembly, STMA has long been the backbone of governance for the Twin-City of Sekondi/Takoradi and the surrounding areas in the Western Region. This new infusion of resources will be strategically deployed to enhance public infrastructure, streamline administrative operations, and promote sustainable development projects that directly benefit local communities. With Sekondi serving as the administrative capital and positioned advantageously between Accra and the border with Côte d'Ivoire, the Assembly’s initiatives are poised to further stimulate economic growth and social amenities in a region known for its rich history and dynamic political and administrative structure. The funds will also support the enhancement of service delivery systems, ensuring that the Assembly continues to operate as a model of efficiency and good governance. This commitment is reflected in its robust political structure—a General Assembly composed of 57 members, representing both elected and appointed officials, alongside the leadership of the Metropolitan Chief Executive and members of parliament.
