With a proud 50-year history in the Fruitvale neighborhood of Oakland, The Unity Council has consistently worked to build vibrant communities where every individual can work, learn, and thrive. This infusion of support will bolster our comprehensive suite of programs designed to transform lives across Oakland and into Concord. Our holistic approach, ranging from early childhood education and youth mentorship to employment services and housing support, assists more than 8,000 individuals and families every year. By offering these services in five languages and engaging a diverse workforce of over 250 dedicated professionals, our organization not only meets the evolving needs of local residents, but also acts as a beacon of inclusion and opportunity. The new funding will be directed towards expanding our core initiatives in career readiness, affordable housing, and neighborhood development programs.
