Women Who Tech Secures $50K Grant to Accelerate Global Women-Led Tech Innovation

We are excited to announce that the Women Who Tech Startup Challenge has successfully raised $50,000 in its latest funding round, marking another milestone in our ongoing mission to close the funding gap for women-led tech ventures. Founded in 2008, Women Who Tech is dedicated to shaking up a culture and economy that has long posed challenges for female entrepreneurs seeking to launch startups and secure capital. With this new injection of funds, our flagship Women Startup Challenge—established three years ago in partnership with Craig Newmark, founder of craigslist, and Craig Newmark Philanthropies—will further empower women innovators by providing essential capital, mentoring, and resources designed to help scale their breakthrough products. To date, our Challenge has showcased an impressive pipeline of over 2,000 women-led tech startups from global hubs such as New York, Silicon Valley, and London, and has supported a diverse group of founders, including a significant percentage of women of color. The accomplishments of our alumni speak volumes: finalists have collectively raised over $25M, received more than $1,000,000 in cash and prizes, and forged partnerships with industry giants like Amazon, Microsoft, and Nike. This latest funding round will bolster our efforts to expand these impactful initiatives, offering even more robust support to women entrepreneurs poised to transform the tech industry.
