Velenje Fuels Growth: Municipality Invests 2.1 Million in Local Innovation

The Municipality of Velenje, one of Slovenia’s 12 municipal communities and a pivotal economic, employment, administrative, and educational hub in the Savinjsko-šaleška region, is excited to announce the successful raising of €2,100,000. This significant funding milestone represents a major step forward in our continued commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our approximately 33,000 residents, spread across 25 diverse settlements. Under the visionary leadership of Mayor Peter Dermol, elected on November 20, 2022, the municipality has strategically directed this substantial investment toward projects that aim to revitalize urban infrastructure, promote sustainable economic development, and improve essential public services. The raised capital will serve as the catalyst for a series of ambitious initiatives designed to foster long-term growth and connectivity within our community. Among these initiatives are targeted improvements to transportation networks and public spaces that will not only enhance daily commuting and recreational experiences but also bolster local businesses.
