Urapuntja Health Service Secures $1.1 Million Grant to Expand Outreach Services in Remote Communities

We are thrilled to announce that Urapuntja Health Service (UHS) has successfully raised $1,100,000 in new funding—a significant milestone that will propel our mission of delivering essential healthcare services across our expansive and diverse region. UHS is uniquely positioned as the administrative body overseeing Health, Social, and Emotional Wellbeing services for the Anmatyerre and Alyawarra speaking communities residing on the Angarapa and Alyawarra Land Trusts. With outreach services extending weekly to sixteen community outstations spread over a vast 3,230 square kilometer area, our work touches the lives of approximately 600 to 1,000 permanent residents, ensuring that even those in the most remote areas receive the care and support they urgently need. This fresh infusion of funds will be strategically invested to expand and enhance our existing programs while introducing innovative initiatives that further empower our communities. Our primary focus will be on strengthening our outreach capabilities, improving infrastructure, and broadening the scope of our social and emotional wellbeing programs. By deepening our commitment to culturally respectful and community-led service delivery, we aim to address emerging health challenges and build resilience among the people we serve.
