traceless® Materials Secures $36 Million in Series A Funding to Revolutionize the Fight Against Plastic Pollution

We are thrilled to announce that Traceless Materials has successfully raised €36 million in funding, marking a significant milestone in our mission to combat plastic pollution through innovative solutions. As a pioneering circular bioeconomy startup founded in 2020 by Anne Lamp and Johanna Baare in Hamburg, Germany, our goal is to provide sustainable alternatives to traditional plastics through our flagship product, traceless® materials. These novel biomaterials, derived from agricultural residues, are fully biobased, plastic-free, and home compostable, making them an essential tool in the fight against environmental degradation. This newly acquired funding will be instrumental in scaling up our production capacities from pilot to industrial levels, allowing us to meet the growing demand for sustainable alternatives in various industries. According to our science-based life-cycle assessment, the production and disposal of traceless® materials results in 91% fewer carbon emissions and 89% less fossil energy usage compared to conventional plastics, without compromising agricultural land or water resources. We are also excited to expand our collaborations with brand owners and converting partners as we develop pilot products made from traceless® materials, with our first market pilot successfully launched in 2022. Supported by key institutions such as the European Innovation Council and the German Federal Ministry for Environment (BMUV), our journey continues to gain traction.
