SWOG Cancer Research Network Secures $50,000 in Seed Funding for Groundbreaking Clinical Trials

The SWOG Cancer Research Network is thrilled to announce a successful funding round that has raised $50,000, marking a significant milestone in our mission to advance cancer research through clinical trial innovation. As a crucial part of the National Cancer Institute’s National Clinical Trials Network and the NCI Community Oncology Research Program, SWOG plays a pivotal role in transforming the landscape of cancer treatment since its inception in 1956. With nearly 20,000 members across 45 states and nine countries, our dedicated professionals have been instrumental in designing and conducting groundbreaking clinical trials that have contributed to the approval of 14 cancer drugs and redefined over 100 standards of cancer care. This recent funding will be instrumental in expanding our efforts to enhance patient outcomes, support additional clinical trials, and ultimately save lives. With our main operations based at the Knight Cancer Institute in Portland and collaborative efforts supported by prestigious institutions like Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center, this financial boost will enhance our capability to integrate advanced statistical analysis, data management, and quality assurance processes into our research endeavors.
