Sowing Seeds of Change: Nakuru Tubers Secures $2,700 Grant to Empower Kenyan Farmers

Nakuru Tubers is thrilled to announce the successful closing of our latest funding round, in which we raised an impressive amount of 2,700. This milestone is a strong vote of confidence in our transformative initiative dedicated to empowering smallholder potato farmers in Kenya. By leveraging our past experiences and opportunities, Nakuru Tubers has positioned itself at the forefront of sustainable agricultural development. Our holistic approach not only strengthens crop production by providing high-quality seeds and innovative training programs but also builds community resilience—mirroring the priorities of Kenya's Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), Vision 2030, and the global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Since our inception, we have already trained over 1,200 farmers, equipping them with the tools and knowledge necessary to cultivate thriving crops while adopting climate-resilient practices. With this new funding, we are poised to scale our impact even further. The funds will be strategically allocated to expand our training programs, improve access to advanced agricultural inputs, and enhance our outreach efforts to reach our ambitious target of 100,000 farmers. In doing so, we not only aim to alleviate poverty and hunger but also to create opportunities for decent work and promote responsible climate action. This achievement underscores the collective belief in the power of community-driven initiatives to revolutionize agricultural practices.
