Nua Surgical Secures €5 Million Funding for Innovations in Women's Health

Alesi Surgical Ltd., a pioneering Irish company that has garnered multiple awards for its commitment to revolutionizing women's health, has successfully raised €5,000,000 in its latest funding round. This strategic investment will be crucial in furthering the development of their innovative solutions aimed at addressing critical unmet clinical needs in obstetric surgery, particularly with the ongoing development of their flagship product, the SteriCISION C-Section Retractor. Formed out of BioInnovate Ireland, the company’s journey began with a significant boost from the Enterprise Ireland Research and Commercialisation Grant in 2018, which facilitated their research efforts at the University of Galway. Since then, Alesi Surgical has achieved remarkable milestones, including being selected as one of seven startups in the US and Ireland for the prestigious Blackstone-backed ‘LaunchPad Lift’ accelerator in 2019, and earning accolades such as the 'Emerging MedTech Company of the Year' and double wins at the 2023 National HealthTech Innovation Awards.
