Monadnock Youth Coalition Secures $125,000 Grant to Empower Youth and Prevent Substance Use in the Community

The Monadnock Youth Coalition (MYC) is thrilled to announce its recent funding achievement, successfully raising $125,000 to bolster its mission of engaging youth in community prevention efforts. Established in 2020, the MYC is a dynamic youth group that emerged from the YMCA Community Coalition, dedicated to representing the voices of young people in the Keene and Swanzey areas. The coalition's primary goal is to prevent substance use among youth aged 11-17, and with this new funding, the MYC aims to expand its impact and outreach. The funds will be utilized to support weekly youth group meetings, organize educational events, and conduct focus group discussions, all geared towards empowering peers and the community in addressing the critical issue of youth substance use. As the MYC continues to develop, it remains deeply committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all young individuals interested in making a difference.
