Longeveron Secures $17.5M to Fast-Track Cellular Therapies for Healthy Aging

Longeveron is thrilled to announce that we have successfully raised $17,500,000 in our latest funding round, marking a significant milestone in our mission to pioneer regenerative medicine solutions for life-threatening and chronic aging-related conditions. As a clinical stage regenerative medicine biotechnology company, we are dedicated to advancing innovative cell therapies that harness the inherent healing capabilities of the human body. Our lead investigational product, laromestrocel (Lomecel-B™), is derived from culture-expanded mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) sourced from the bone marrow of young healthy adult donors. These unique cells are instrumental in promoting tissue repair, maintaining organ function, and bolstering the immune system, all of which are critical in addressing the multifaceted challenges of aging. The funds will propel our ambitious clinical development programs as we continue to build on an encouraging foundation of positive initial signals from five clinical trials spanning three indications, including Phase 1 and 2 studies in Alzheimer’s Disease and aging-related frailty, as well as a Phase 1 study in Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS), a rare pediatric condition. We are currently advancing a pivotal Phase 2b clinical trial in HLHS, and this capital investment will further support our journey towards achieving regulatory approvals and subsequent commercialization. In doing so, we aim to expand access to safe and effective therapies that not only extend life expectancy but also enhance healthspan—the number of years lived in good health. By investing in regenerative medicine, Longeveron is poised to transform current approaches to age-related ailments, ultimately empowering the healthcare community with new tools for combating the debilitating effects of aging.
