Klamath Community College Secures $1M Funding to Drive Accessible, Workforce-Ready Education in South Central Oregon

Klamath Community College is excited to announce a groundbreaking funding milestone with a recent raise of $1,000,000 that will propel the institution’s longstanding commitment to accessible, high-quality education across South Central Oregon. Founded in 1996, KCC has rapidly become Oregon’s youngest community college, serving a diverse population in Klamath and Lake counties spread over more than 14,000 square miles. This funding injection not only reinforces the college’s mission but also enables KCC to expand and enhance its robust portfolio of programs, which range from workforce development and credentialing in high-demand fields to non-credit certifications in areas like phlebotomy, medical assistant, and dental assistant. With strategic articulation agreements with Oregon State University, Southern Oregon University, Linfield University, and Eastern Oregon University, KCC continues to offer pathways for local students to pursue bachelor’s degrees without having to leave their communities. The funds will also support the innovative delivery of courses through live synchronous technology at six regional high schools, as well as the expansion of its online learning opportunities designed to accommodate busy work and life schedules. In addition, this investment comes at a pivotal time as KCC, together with Southern Oregon Goodwill, recently opened the Klamath Center for Education & Training (K-CET), a center dedicated to empowering adult learners with GED, college prep, adult basic education, and ESL courses. Ultimately, the $1,000,000 funding milestone not only represents a financial achievement but also a renewed promise to dismantle technological and geographic barriers, ensuring that every member of this vibrant community has the opportunity to succeed.
