IonKraft Secures €3.5 Million in Funding to Revolutionize Plastic Packaging Sustainability

IonKraft is thrilled to announce that we have successfully raised €3.5 million in funding to accelerate our mission to revolutionize plastic packaging. As a spin-off from the prestigious Institute for Plastics Processing (IKV) at RWTH Aachen University, and backed by the EIC Accelerator program of the European Innovation Council, we are positioned at the forefront of sustainable innovation. Our objective is clear: to make plastic packaging fully recyclable and free from harmful Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) by leveraging our groundbreaking plasma coating technology. Traditional barrier solutions, like multi-plastic structures or fluorination, often compromise sustainability and lead to environmental harm. With our advanced barrier coating technology, we overcome these challenges, delivering exceptional product protection without the environmental drawbacks associated with conventional methods. This funding will enable us to scale our operations, enhance our research and development efforts, and bring our innovative solutions to market more rapidly.
