IONITY Secures €671.5M Investment to Accelerate Europe's High-Power EV Charging Network

IONITY, the company revolutionizing long-distance electric vehicle travel across Europe’s highways, is excited to announce its recent funding milestone of €671,500,000. This substantial infusion of capital reaffirms the company’s strategic vision to accelerate the adoption of sustainable mobility solutions and expand its state-of-the-art High Power Charging (HPC) network. As a joint venture comprising legendary automotive industry leaders including BMW Group, Ford Motor Company, Hyundai Motor Group, Mercedes Benz AG, and Volkswagen Group with Audi and Porsche—along with BlackRock’s Climate Infrastructure Platform as a financial investor—IONITY is uniquely positioned to lead the electric vehicle revolution. The raised funds will be strategically deployed to further scale and enhance the existing network of charging stations, each offering up to 400kW capacity and four individual charging points per location, in line with the CCS (Combined Charging System) European standard. This initiative will not only boost the prevalence of ultra-fast charging infrastructure but also solidify the commitment to powering every charge with 100% renewable energy, ensuring drivers experience emission-free and carbon-neutral journeys.
