Endeavor Composites, Inc. is proud to announce a recent funding milestone of $74,695, a significant step forward in scaling our innovative manufacturing technology. Based in Knoxville, TN, our small business was founded on the inspirational vision set forth by Manufacturing USA and its leading institutes, including IACMI—the Composites Institute. This new investment will bolster our core technology, which is engineered to produce defect-free, fully isotropic Carbon Fiber non-woven reinforcing fiber mats from long fibers (ranging from 1 to 1.5 inches) at an unprecedented pace and cost efficiency. Our innovative process not only lowers production costs, but also offers a zero-waste solution for advanced composites manufacturing, making it ideal for automotive applications such as battery casings, access panels, under-the-hood components, and more. By harnessing techniques that allow for the reprocessing of fiber trims into new non-woven fabrics, and by utilizing both virgin and recycled fibers, we are setting new industry standards in both sustainability and performance. Moreover, our unique system is capable of processing commingled nonwoven fabrics—integrating carbon, basalt, Kevlar, and even natural fibers like bamboo, jute, hemp, as well as various thermoplastic fibers—ensuring uniform aerial weight with a standard deviation below 3%. This enhances quality control and facilitates the manufacturing of complex composite shapes. The funding will further drive our research and development efforts, building on the foundation established through the Innovation Crossroads grant from the Department of Energy’s Advanced Manufacturing Office, and will continue to leverage collaborative insights from Oak Ridge National Laboratory and the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. We are excited to propel our journey toward revolutionizing advanced composite materials in the automotive industry.
