This capital injection, garnered from a robust coalition that includes the Port of Cromarty Firth, Global Energy Group, Port of Inverness, Highland Deephaven, Port of Ardesier, and The Highland Council, alongside more than thirty regional and national businesses, public sector organisations, and academic bodies, marks a monumental milestone for ICFGF. The newly created Green Freeport is poised to achieve official status in May 2024, setting the stage for a transformative journey that will maximise both local and Scotland-wide benefits from an impressive pipeline of renewable energy projects. The funding will play a pivotal role in accelerating the implementation and expansion of sustainable initiatives designed to propel the Highlands to the forefront of the drive towards Net Zero.
