HiCap Secures $1.2M in Pre-Seed Funding to Transform Free Medicare Counseling Services

We are thrilled to announce that HiCap has successfully raised $1,200,000 in new funding—a significant milestone that will strengthen our mission to provide comprehensive, free health insurance counseling to people with Medicare. The Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program (HICAP) is a state-sponsored, volunteer-supported initiative designed to guide individuals through the often complex terrain of Medicare benefits, rights, and options. With this infusion of funds, HICAP is poised to expand its reach and enhance its service offerings, ensuring that seniors and Medicare beneficiaries have the support they need to make informed decisions regarding their healthcare coverage. Administered by the California Department of Aging, HICAP has a longstanding reputation for delivering expert advice through dedicated volunteer counselors who are committed to serving their communities. In addition, a portion of these funds will be dedicated to the creation and distribution of current, user-friendly consumer materials, including an enhanced website and updated fact sheets, thereby making vital information more accessible than ever before.
