Fathoms Free Secures £5,000 to Power Global Ocean Conservation Efforts

Fathoms Free is thrilled to announce that we have successfully raised $5,000 in new funding—a vital boost in our mission to combat the global marine debris crisis. As a dedicated team of volunteer conservationists, we refuse to stand idly by while our seas transform into uninhabitable dumping grounds. This funding will enable us to expand our critical initiatives, increasing our capacity to clean up marine debris, study its impact, and mobilize both diving and non-diving communities. With these additional resources, we will enhance our participation in Project AWARE’s Dive Against Debris program, deepen our research efforts, and broaden our community outreach. Our work is made even more impactful by partnerships with influential organizations like The National Trust, which provides access to some of our most pristine coastlines, and The Wildlife Trust’s Sea Search Programme divers, who offer their expertise in these challenging conditions. Additionally, our collaborative events with groups such as Surfers Against Sewage and the Mires Mor organisation have consistently demonstrated the strength of community action in environmental stewardship. The new funding not only reinforces our commitment to protecting the ocean but also helps us tap into innovative methods and technologies to tackle marine pollution head-on. Every contribution and volunteer effort drives us closer to healthier seas, knowing that if our oceans can thrive, so too can our planet.
