CRDB Bank Plc Raises $200M to Bolster African Financial Services

CRDB Bank Plc, a prominent African financial services provider, has secured $200,000,000 in investment capital from investors. This significant funding round underscores a strategic milestone for the bank, which is a leading financial institution in Tanzania with an established presence in Burundi, East Africa. Established in 1996 and listed on the Dar Es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE) since June 2009, CRDB Bank has developed into a comprehensive financial services partner. The bank offers a broad spectrum of services, including Corporate, Retail, Business, Treasury, Premier, and wholesale Microfinance. These services are delivered through an extensive network comprising 260 branches, 551 ATMs, 18 Depository ATMs, 12 Mobile branches, and 1184 Point of Sales (POS) terminals. Additionally, CRDB Bank was a pioneer in agency banking, with 3286 FahariHuduma agents across Tanzania, alongside internet and mobile banking platforms. The bank also collaborates with 450 Microfinance partner institutions. The capital infusion of $200 million represents a substantial investment, highlighting investor confidence in CRDB Bank's robust portfolio and its position as a responsive financial services partner in the region.
