AquaGreen ApS Secures 4M in Funding to Revolutionize Wastewater Sludge Treatment and Energy Recovery!

AquaGreen ApS is thrilled to announce a successful funding round, having raised 4,000,000 to further propel our groundbreaking advancements in the Clean Tech sector. With our innovative solutions for wastewater sludge treatment, we are redefining the way industries manage waste while generating valuable byproducts. Our technology relies on Superheated Steam Drying and Pyrolysis, a process that not only converts low-grade biomaterial resources into thermal energy and high-quality fertilizer, but also recovers approximately 85% of the embedded thermal energy present in the sludge. This energy, in turn, can be repurposed for district or process heating and cooling, providing a fast return on investment with an estimated RoI period of just 2-6 years. Originally developed for the fish farming industry in Norway, our scalable, compact, and computer-controlled system—with specially designed software that adjusts operations based on the volume and composition of the input sludge—is versatile enough to treat a wide range of sludge types in sectors such as sewage, biogas, food, oil, and pulp and paper waste. Moreover, our process not only reduces sludge weight by 90% and volume by 70%, but also captures harmful pollutants like mercury, arsenic, and cadmium, effectively removing pathogens, xenobiotics, and environmental contaminants. Our commitment to sustainability and innovation, in collaboration with DTU (Danish Technical University), is reinvigorating the way energy and nutrients are recycled, turning waste into a marketable nutrient-rich biochar fertilizer that enhances soil fertility. This new injection of capital will accelerate our plans to expand market reach, enhance our technology, and play a pivotal role in the global transition to a greener, more sustainable future.
