ActivLives Secures £140K Grant: A New Chapter in Empowering Marginalized Communities in Ipswich and East Suffolk

ActivLives is thrilled to announce that we have successfully raised £140,000 in our latest funding round—a pivotal milestone that will enable us to expand and enhance our community support programs across Ipswich and East Suffolk. As a dedicated charity serving those in some of the most ‘hard pressed’ areas, ActivLives has long been committed to delivering a wide range of activities designed to support and empower marginalized groups. This significant infusion of funds will reinforce our mission to improve the health and well-being of individuals facing mental ill health, older people over 50, people living with dementia and their carers, as well as members of Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic communities who often encounter social isolation and loneliness. Additionally, the funds will bolster our work with younger people with intellectual disability and Autism, enabling them to engage in inclusive sports and represent their communities in Special Olympics competitions nationwide. Furthermore, we will continue to provide vital access to learning, training, and volunteering opportunities through our three community garden projects, helping people gain skills, qualifications, and ultimately find meaningful employment. Our diverse range of activities—which includes two lunch clubs, 11 Better Balance Hubs dedicated to falls prevention, a dedicated weekly Hub, Friday Friends for dementia support, three community singing groups, and a weekly carers/former carers support group—will all benefit from this additional financial support. This funding represents not just an investment in ActivLives, but also in every individual who benefits from our services.
